Yellow like gold. Precious, unique, special! Summer is the ideal opportunity to discover dreamy places, relaxing bucolic atmospheres to get away from the city noise, enchanting hill slopes to contemplate the nature. Have you ever slept in a Kozolec? They were born as dryers to get the dry out the herbs and other agricultural products such as cereals, garlic, onions ... it is here that you can dream immersed in an explosion of authentic natural aromas. These structures are made entirely of wood and artistically finished, and are considered true national monuments.
With regard to the solstices and equinoxes, Gorizia wears a different colour each season.
1st day
In the morning, guests arrival in the Collio DOC area. The Collio Goriziano produces white wines among the best in the world and offers a landscape of vineyards, wine bars and cellars. At 1.00 PM lunch is scheduled in a renowned inn in the heart of Gorizia. An old friulian inn renewed with taste, to discover the unusual flavors of the most traditional dishes of local cuisine and typical regional products, such as Frico and Polenta prepared from yellow corn. The dishes will be paired with prestigious wines to taste.
In the afternoon we continue towards Cormons, a place of great historical and artistic interest of the Collio, where we will stop at the historical wine bar with guided wine tasting of various noble and fine wines of the associated producers.
Return to the accommodation for a guided tour in the family run vinegar factory located in the structure itself, with an explanation of the production and a final tasting of the product.
Dinner at the trattoria of the accommodation facility itself, with a refined menu based on typical local products. The polenta machine is ready to function every day!
Overnight at the Kozolec, a classic Slovenian rural building: a barn adapted to a home immersed in a unique landscape, where you can enjoy the view from the sunset to the the starry sky.
2nd day
Wake up with the sun rise and have breakfast. The morning continues with itinerary by the Yellow Vespa along the hills of the Collio.
The first stop will be in a farm where they produce hand-crafted cheeses according to the techniques of the old cheese makers; the visit of the establishment and the tasting of the products are scheduled.
After that, in the late morning, the guests will visit a local vinegar factory. The tour will last about 2 hours, with departure from the Osteria della Subida by foot (5 minutes of walk).
One hour will be dedicated to the visit of the factory with final tasting of vinegar, and then, the guest will end the tour at the Osteria; here they will taste a vinegar sorbet, some local honey and the Energizer with some appetizers, all paired with
a glass of wine. Free dinner. Return to the accommodation for overnight stay.
3rd day
In the morning, guests will be welcomed at one of the exponent cellars of the Ribolla Producers Association of Oslavia (in the outskirts of Gorizia) to visit the vineyards of one of the most important wine areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Once the tour is over, the group will be welcomed to visit the winery and taste its Ribolla Gialla, characterized by this predominantly straw yellow color.
To conclude the visit it is also suggested to visit the small museum dedicated to the findings of the First World War, made with all the objects found in the family vineyards.
